Presented at the Package Club in Graz, Austria on April 14th of 2008, Austrian Flair Combat is the first installment of an exciting new flair bartending competition. Put on by the Austrian Flair Bartending School, this event was a Level 4 FBA Pro Tour sanctioned tournament. Contestants included the top names in Flair Bartending including Tom Dyer, Rodrigo Delpech, Danilo Oribe, Marco Canova, Andrea Fiore, Roberto Cuccurullo, Dario Doimo, Christian Cordoba, Joao Paulo Rodrigues and Stefan Haneder.

The competition gets hot fast, both in terms of the speed of the flair moves and also for the creativity. Watch this sample video from the DVD as Stefan Haneder uses his head to land a bottle stall. He parlays a bit of bar magic with the opening straw trick, causing the straw to boomerang around a customer’s head and back in to his hands. The action heats up as he spins an ice scoop on his head, closing out a stunning performance. Halfway through the sample video, Joao Paulo Rodrigues sets the crowd on edge with a seemingly slow start that quickly shows he’s a master of the bottle and tin parade. This is just a small sample of the amazing performances on this flair vaideo including some stunning aerial acrobatics by Tom Dyer and a rocking performance by Rodrigo Delpech that has the crowd screaming and cheering from start to finish.
